XAMPP & FDF: Myths and Reality!!!

Postby shadukan » 05. January 2006 11:31

Ok i gave it a big try to setup the damn thing right to work with fdf support.
I do exactly what i have read over the net and the manuals.BUT nothing
worked...and then i have a glimpse...whynot phpinfo the damn thing to
see what is compiled in and sheeped along with php...Then i see no fdf section and when i switch to console and tried to view with what
switches is compiled the php in the AMP package of xampp the fdf extension wasn't there. So i dare u ppl here to prove me wrong.I am reffering to the latest stable ver of the xampp. Is it so diffucult to add a switch during compilation?I read somewhere here that someone used to have fdf support in earlier versions of
xampp...Can u tell me which one.I simply need it immedieatly!!

Sorry if my tone doesn't sound good but i have the problem over a week...
and didn't see anything else because i read here that fdf is supported!Any
hint or advices are more than welcome.

Sorry but i must inform you that i have done also that....and still
the damn thing doesn't work.Let me give you a brief for what i am
doing....in order to enable fdf support...
1)Edit php.ini and uncomment php_fdf.dll
2)Copy fdftk.dll to windows/system32 and system directory
3)I setup the extensions_dir=C"..../xampp/php/ext,which is the default...
i checked and i found in the php_fdf.dll there..
4)Save changes in php.ini
5)Restart the apache server

try to use fdf_crete and i get:
Undefined refference => no dynamic library loaded.A bit disappointed there
since i switched from jsp 2 php and the fdf library in jsp worked outoff the
box and very clean and nice....
So i hear suggestions over it

hope hearing from u all soon!!!

1)Edit php.ini and uncomment php_fdf.dll

That's the only thing you must do on XAMPP to enable the FDF-Extension.

After enabling the extension and restart of the Apache you can see that in phpinfo():
Code: Select all
FDF Support      enabled
FdfTk Version    5.0
