mysql doesn't find myodbc3.dll and myodbc3S.dll

i have installed and uninstalled 1.5.0-pl1 so many times my drive is getting tired. i have one drive and i'm developing on this machine. gotta get another drive to install into the root.

the program installs into c:\program files. all runs well, except the above mentioned files are not found by mysql.

my next problem is that after creating the database i can connect to it except through the file dsn tab. the file in the data base folder is db.opt. i am using myodbc connector/myodbc 3.5.1.

once i get this worked out, i'll try installing wordpress again.

all runs well, except the above mentioned files are not found by mysql.

The mysqld don't use these files... So, why should the mysqld search for these filese? And so they are not part of the XAMPP package.

BTW:
I think these files are part of the ODBC connector?
