Xampp doesn't leave the command prompt window

Postby kupe » 19. August 2005 09:06

I had to reinstall my brilliant xampp. It works, of course, but it won't let me use myphpadmin, which is a real blow.

Xampp opens in Command Prompt, but remains there.

It gives these error messages:

pv:No matching processes found
... admin.exeAttention: Cannot delete the httpd.pid!

Check that mysqld is running in localhost and that the port is 3306. You can check this by doing 'telnet localhost 3306'
Apache pid delete ... shutdown complete!

Then there's the announcement that "Apache and MySQL is starting now
!###"

And then the advice about not closing the window while xampp is running.

Sorry, I don't know what doing telnet localhost 3306 means.

Be very grateful for advice.

Have you tried another reinstall?

Thanks, bugman, that's a point, and I have just dowloaded the latest xampp, so I will try that.

I found that I can still find and use phpmyadmin, so it isn't all bad. Cheers

i saved my entire WWW directory first (where i put all my websites) and did a mysql backup, but other then that, i wiped my xmapp folder clean, its much easier that way

Save your httpd.conf file just incase though!
