I have tried to look for documentation on the XAMPP website, but i have found nothing on FTP. How do i setup XAMPP so that i will have access to the htdocs directory so i can upload/download to it via FTP?

Hey i am not sure what ftp://newuser:wampp@localhost/ means?

I have also enabled the FTP server from the XAMPP Control Panel!

I have enabled portforwarding for ports 20 and 21, but i am struggling to find out where to add usernames/passwords lists for people to be allowed to access onto htdocs directory.

I also typed ftp://newuser:wampp@localhost/ into Internet Explorer and it didn't work.

I am lost :?

In the Xampp folder, there is a folder called FileZillaFTP. In that folder, there is a program called "FileZilla Server Interface.exe" (it may or may not show the ".exe" at the end).

Run that, and you will get the controls for the server. There is an "Edit" menu at the top, and you can find the Edit Users page there.

Come back and ask questions when you hit a wall on that. (It's not the most intuitive interface I've ever seen.)

I went into the area you told me, and i figured out how to make it work. It's so cool because i can easily add and delete users to certain directories and grant them different access ... it's top stuff :D

It's a great server. It's just that the administrative interface isn't easy to figure out. Other than that, I love it.
