Mercury Mail Problem with SMTP

Hi,

I'm having problems setting up mercury mail to just deal with smtp, as the web server i have created xampp for is for development purposes only.

I am using the MercuryC Relay module to deal with sending emails, but for some reason i keep on getting TCP/IP errors. If i load up mercury, then load up my test email PHP script and submit an email through it, then look in Mercury's admin program, i can see the email going through the MercuryS smtp module fine, but when it goes to the MercuryC module, it comes up with "TCP/IP error during processing", then it says failed.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?
