Apache Timeouts

Hi

I have a question for you. firstly XAMPP is a great program, very easy to use, I love it.

However im hosting my own website at home using XAMPP, but everynow and then the website stops working and i have to restart Apache in the XAMPP control panel. Any ideas why Apache is timing out? have i not configured something right? Im new to XAMPP so any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks guys!

what is the error shown in error.log in apache dir? or any log file information will be much appreciated

Seems that you missed a CSS...

But that wouldnt cause the whole webserver to timeout tho would it? because it happens on the splash screen also...?

You may think it this way:

Apache is not timeout, it may cause by the person who access your website(maybe it's you!). If a person access a website and something wrong (e.g. an error), the whole server will stop.

My experience is: I used to create a SSL certificate, I imported it to a ssl/ folder and config my httpd.conf, ssl.conf to reflect this change, then restart apache. -> Apache run perfectly - > when I try to access it, I cannot get any response, and when I went back to the server, it stopped with error written in error log.

i.e. You apache is not time out, it may be caused by server error and make your apache stop.
