Does some XAMPP affect existing installations

I am considering to install XAMPP, but I'd like to no if installing XAMPP affects the operation of already installed components, such as their environment variables, registry configuration, ports etc.

Can anyone enlighten me on this?

But you can not use two applications, that use the same port, at the same time.
