Hello apache friends,
I have install xampp Lite version 1.4.6 for over a year and i have a phpnuke site on it.
It is working fine except some problems with the apache server propably caused by a bug on the 5.0.1 php.
Specifically this is the error as discribed on the apache error log:
[Wed Jun 29 21:30:29 2005] [notice] Parent: child process exited with status 4294967295 -- Restarting.
[Wed Jun 29 21:30:31 2005] [notice] Parent: Created child process 1612
[Wed Jun 29 21:30:36 2005] [notice] Child 1612: Child process is running
[Wed Jun 29 21:30:36 2005] [notice] Child 1612: Acquired the start mutex.
[Wed Jun 29 21:30:36 2005] [notice] Child 1612: Starting 250 worker threads.

After that the apache fails and i need to restart it manually to make it work.
The phpnuke site is moded and the apache server too, for modules like google tap and protector to work, but its been over six months that i haven't touch anything of these and i can't remember how and what i changed and it would be very difficult to make everything from the beginning.
So i 'm wondering if i could upgrade the php from version 5.0.1 to 5.1.0 without upgrading the whole xaamp packet

above are the specifications of the xampp version i have installed on my win2k sp4 system:
ApacheFriends XAMPP Lite version 1.4.6 (win32 16-08-2004)
+ Apache 2.0.50
+ MySQL 4.0.20
+ PHP 5.0.1
+ mod_php 4.3.7
+ MiniPerl 5.8.3
+ SQLite 3.0.4
+ PHPMyAdmin 2.5.7 pl1

i hope i'm not asking much
