XAMPP port change

Postby htg » 21. June 2005 11:40

I wanna know if it is very easy to change the webserver port. Maybe inside httpd.conf only (apache). I have IIS that will use my port 80. I wanna use apache with XAMP to port 8080. Does it effect other modules? So I might have to change other settings aswell?

And XAMPP is probably the most populair PHP/MYSQL bundle? (There are others aswel) :)

Thanks

This should be everything to change my default port with XAMPP? Is there also SSL support for ports inside this file?

have XAMPP installed. And I only changed the listening port option in the configuration file of Apache. I use port 8080 now. Why it doesn't work? When I try to start Apache from the configuration panel of XAMPP it will close again very fast. It does not run. What is wrong?

I could really need some help here..

Hi htg,

please post in your existing thread (with the same topic). (and of course in the english forum)

BTW:

--> ssl.conf

If you start Apache with the batchfile in a cmd window, you can see the errormessage.

I have the following reply after I start from batch (duh):

C:\apachefriends\xampp>apache_start.bat
Diese Eingabeforderung nicht waehrend des Running beenden
Bitte erst bei einem gewollten Shutdown schliessen
Please close this command only for Shutdown
Apache 2 is starting ...
(OS 10048)Elk socketadres (protocol/netwerkadres/poort) kan normaal slechts ÚÚn
keer worden gebruikt. : make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:443
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs

Why would I need to change my SSL port if my webserver runs at port 8080? If so..what port must I choose instead of 443?

Thank you very much!

IIS support also SSL.

Every port that is not in use (like with HTTP).

In order to run XAMPP successfully without the error above, you need to stop IIS first.

Once you stop IIS, that should be no error above.

Hope it helps.
