PEAR SETUP - DRIVING ME INSANE

Postby charlie_h_ward » 09. June 2005 08:55

Hi there,

I still for the life of me cannot setup PEAR. After installing XAMPP via the Windows Installer I type 'pear list' from the PHP directory (in this case c:\zac\xampp\php\. This results in the error:

PHP_PEAR_INSTALL_DIR is not set correctly. The current value is: C:\testingcw\xampp\php\pear which is where I used to have an instance of XAMPP installed. When I open the batch file (pear.bat) however it is clearly setting this environment variable to c:\zac\xampp\php\. So again I don't know from where XAMPP is picking up the old environment variable value.

if I run the go-pear script it fails: on my work computer I can't get past the 'suggest file layout page'. When I press enter the screen (to accept the suggested file paths) it does nothing.

On my home computer it gives an error about not being able to load one of the php scripts because its trying to find it in the old path (e.g c:\testingcw\xampp\php\pear)

I really don't know how to fix this but without XAMPP AND PEAR I am screwed.

Please help.

Cheers

Charlie.
