Can't start Apache after running the Perl Addon

Postby tinyfly » 01. March 2005 16:39

On windows I installed a fresh xampp 1.4.12 then installed perl 1.4.12 addon installer. When I try to install apache as a service I get the following error.

Installing Apache2 as an Service
Syntax error on line 1 of D:/server/xampp/apache/conf/perl.conf: Cannot load /xampp/perl58.dll into server: The specified module could not be found.

Then it shuts down. The funny thing is, perl58.dll and mod_perl.so are in the correct place and the perl.conf points to them correctly. If I comment out "Include conf/perl.conf" in the apache httpd.conf file the apache service will install correctly.

Anybody know what the problem is?

UPDATE: In the irc channel I was told that you cannot install xampp to a path with the word "server" in it. I re-installed xampp to d:/dev/xampp and perl installed without any problems.

Hmm...
I seem to be having same problem as you - http://community.apachefriends.org/f/viewtopic.php?t=10762.

But I'm not having xampp on a path with the word "server" in it, so I have no idea yet, on how to fix my issue.
