Apache error shutdown

Postby giuseppepio » 25. March 2023 10:54

From one day to the next apache started not working anymore I tried to search youtube for some solution but nothing. the error message is this:

Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
Press the Logs button to view error logs and check
the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
If you need more help, copy and post this
entire log window on the forums

Is youtube the only resource you checked? Did you search the Apachefriends forum, or just post the above information?

The above information does not indicate anything other than Apache shutdown unexpectedly, nor does it ask a question.

The XAMPP Control Panel message that makes up most of what you submitted indicates that you should post the contents of the Apache error log, and to check the Windows Event Viewer. The error log, or relevant event messages from the Windows Event Viewer would likely yield responses related to whatever issue is causing Apache to exit.

Apache could exit because another service is already using the port, like say IIS, or perhaps the port configured for Apache is blocked, or perhaps there is a different configuration error. There are likely other possibilities, so consider these just examples of what could be wrong.
