Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

command prompt

Postby musicmaster » 19. March 2023 11:04

I have installed Xampp many times. However, since the last Windows update suddenly it doesn't work anymore as expected. After I start xampp-start.exe I no longer get the familiar window where I can start the program parts (Apache, mysql, etc). Instead I get a kind of command box with in it the message that I should use xampp-stop to close it.

What can I do with this?

The familiar Window is called Xampp-Control.exe, not Xampp-Start.exe

XAMPP 8.1.2 runs just fine on my up to date Windows 11 system. FWIW, my system has the latest Windows Insider Beta version.

A suggestion... your profile overview on this message only indicates you have Windows, so you might want to supply more information in your request, instead of making folks guess. Windows version, XAMPP version (is latest 8.1.2, or the latest at the time you installed it...)
