setting up a test forum on pc

I'm setting up a test forum on my pc locally and it recommends using xampp. However, the directions are the following.

Code: Select all
Start the XAMPP Control Panel
Start the Apache service and allow Firewall access
Start the MySQL service and allow Firewall access

Set up security
Click on the Apache service Admin button on the XAMPP Control Panel
Click Security
Click, or browse to http://localhost/security/xamppsecurity.php
Set the password for the MySQL section
Password: root (choose your own password)
Set the password for XAMPP directory protection
User: root (choose your own user name)
Password: root (choose your own password)
Restart the MySQL service

When I click on the apache service admin button it takes me here instead of the xampsecurity.php section.

http://localhost/dashboard/

How can I setup security?

You cannot. That documentation is outdated (since a couple of years). Simply skip that part of the installation and proceed to the next step. Apply empty password for user "root" for the database configuration.
