I can create a new database at phpmyadmin/server_databases.php
However, I cannot find any buttons for deleting or dropping a database in the phpMyAdmin.

How can I delete or drop a databse with the phpMyadmin?

You can delete databases in the same dialogue. You need to tick them and click on "Drop" below the database list.
