The same error I got when I was exporting the data from the local host to wordpress. The website was working fine when it was hosted on the local server. But as we imported the data on the live server we got an error message showing the server isn't responding. If this error was due to some mishandling during exporting the data or it was an error from the live server end.

make sure you have changed the values of siteurl and home fields in wp_options table from your local url to the live url

Well, have you checked the permalinks? many times this issue happens. Also will you please share what error you are getting?
