server (MySQL) rejects phpMyAdmin connection
Posted: 08. June 2013 06:02htttp://localhost/xampp produces the "Xampp for Windows" menu. So far so good. Also, the Xampp control panel (on Desktop) indicates that SQL is successfully installed. However, when I select the phpMyAdmin menu item on the "Xampp for Windows" menu I get the following error message:
"phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the
connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and
make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the
MySQL server."
I don't know where to begin. I do know that the xampp/MySQL/bin/my.cnf file has the correct password and port. Any ideas, relevant prior experiences?
