Apache Friends Support Forum

I have installed and configured all the elements of the xampp installation suite. I have used 8080 as my listening port for apache. My web pages display OK. However when I go into phpmyadmin and click on a database to do some work on, the system just does nothing. I want to import an sql file, but when I press the import button at top of page the right hand widow goes blank . The whole of phpmyadmin just seems to freeze. One thing that I did notice was the url that it was trying to access, which was localhost:8080/127.0.0.1/....... I expected the localhost:8080 but not the 127.0.0.1 as I believe they are both the same. Is there a config file that I need to change which I have missed?
