I have installed XAMPP 1.7.7 on windows 7. Everything works fine except that when I go to the PHPMyAdmin page on localhost/xampp, it displays in german, even when I've specifically selected English in the home page. I tried every other option on the home page such as status and they all display in english. Why is this? Very frustrating.

When you change the language setting in the XAMPP Welcome page you are changing the language for the XAMPP system files only not phpMyAdmin - phpMyAdmin is a third party component and so is not affected by changing the language for the XAMPP system files.

Open phpMyAdmin then...
...to change the language of phpMyAdmin, in the Anzeige-Einstellungen section find the Sprache - Language drop box and change the default German language to English or a language of your choosing - simple solution really.
