phpmyadmin 2 questions

hi everybody i want to ask you 2 questions.

first: i can access the phpmyadmin page without giving username ang password.so,how can i activate a username and a password to enter the page?

second: when i complete the database creation,how can i connect it with my index page?i think that i must extract it first as sql database,ok, and then?

please help me

use auth_type cookie or http as described in phpmyadmin/Documentation.html#quick_install
