September brings new XAMPP releases

Postby Oswald » 20. September 2004 17:39

I'm happy and proud to announce that the world still keeps spinning and two new releases of XAMPP are knocking on your door: XAMPP for Windows (1.4.7) and XAMPP for Linux (1.4.8). Both versions now also containing the latest Apache (2.0.51) and the latest MySQL (4.0.21) plus system-specific news like a new FileZilla version in XAMPP for Windows and a new ProFTPD in the Linux version of XAMPP.

Find more details and downloads at XAMPP for Windows and/or XAMPP for Linux.

Dear Golyc!

Thanks a lot for that information. I will forward it immediately to Kay, who is the responsible for the Windows version of XAMPP.

Thanks again,

Dear Golyc!

That is my fault. In the package 1.4.7 is the FileZilla Server Version 0.9.3 (beta) AND NOT 0.9.2. I must correct this in the xampp win32 sites.

Thank you!

I am glad to find a new Windows release.

Isn't it time  to have an option to download the big thing with Bittorrent?
Perhaps it will be the first modern distribution with this option.
Might be a small and significant step. What do you think?
The distro might have it all complete! And one might only have to download the link to the seed, from SF. I have seen things like this before.
Have fun!

In addition, the Windows version has its disadvantages.
