gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-55)

java -version
java version "1.6.0_32"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.13.4) (rhel-6.1.13.4.el6_5-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)

weblogic application server:
java -version
java version "1.4.2"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-54)

Download and install Java. I use JDK 1.7.0_03 and JDK 1.6.0_31, but any Java 6 or 7 version will work. If you will use Java and Tomcat only from within Eclipse you are now done, and you can skip the rest of this page.Set your PATH environment variable to include the Java "bin" directory. Use autoexec.bat or the Control Panel. This step is not needed if you use Java and Tomcat only from within Eclipse.
