Re: WinMySQLadmin -The Solution of LIBMYSQL.dll access viola

To solve this problem is really easy. First, close all the error pop up window. An then you have to go to the traffic light picture-->show me-->stop extend server status. But you must do it quickly before the pop up message showing up again. And after that close the WinMySQLAdmin. Next time if you wanna use WinMySQLAdmin again, RUN IT AS ADMINISTRATOR. And the same problem will not happen again. Hope it's helpful.

How to create a new db in xampp 1.6.4?

Hello.

First using XAMPP. My akeeba backup tool needs to use PHP 5.2. This has resulted to install previous version of XAMPP 1.6.4. There is no phpmyadmin In this version. Instead it has WinMySQLAdmin 1.4. At databeses tab of it i haven't found the mean to create db.
How can I create db in XAMPP 1.6.4?
The second question is localhost the name for host in XAMPP 1.6.4?
And the third - is root the name of superuser in XAMPP 1.6.4?

Re: Need help transferring content to new installation

Ok, I found the database root password. WinMySQLadmin is running at startup on this server, but it was throwing errors so I stopped it. I let it run long enough to see the root password in the .ini file that it lists in the application. Using that password I was able to successfully export my databases.

I uninstalled Xampp, and installed version 1.7.7. I was able to import the databases using MySQL Workbench. After resetting all root passwords, the website now comes up, but I have some errors on the mainpage. When I import the databases into the new installation of MySQL, should it modify the database to address these issues?

Re: Repeating Memory Violation from bad MYSQL admin input

This issue has been done to death when 1.66 and other old versions used a deprecated WinMySQLAdmin and the advice then and now is not to use it but to use instead phpMyAdmin.

You can safely delete the 3 winmysqladmin files from \xampp\mysql\bin\ folder which will then make the Admin... button redundant in the XAMPP Control Panel - just in case you are tempted to click on it again by mistake.
Remove from the Windows Startup folder any reference to winmysqladmin.
You can also kill the process if you find it in Windows Task Manager.

Here are some posts found by using keyword winmysqladmin in an advanced forum search in the XAMPP for Windows English forum:
viewtopic.php?p=136472#p136472
viewtopic.php?p=140361#p140361
viewtopic.php?p=151856#p151856
There were many more to read if you have the time.

To set the root user password for MySQL and for accessing phpMyAdmin (both use the same root user and password) click on the Security menu item found when you type http://localhost/xampp in your browser.

Why not install a newer version of XAMPP, for instance 1.7.3, which seems to be stable and does not include winmysqladmin but links to phpmyadmin from the MySQL Admin... button in the XAMPP Control Panel.

Re: A problem with the xampp control panel

The Admin... button for MySQL doesn't work in 1.7.4 you have to type http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ manually in your browser.

It is noted in this topic:
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=44327

Reason is the XAMPP Control Panel in 1.7.4 is very old and the Admin... button in this control panel points to winmysqladmin.exe that was very buggy and is no longer used or included in recent XAMPP versions.
Until this is corrected by the developers then you will have to connect to phpMyAdmin manually as above.

Status error and a possible solution here:

Re: Acces violation at address 10002593 in module 'LIBMYSQL.

uhhh - did you look in xampp\mysql\bin???

what tool did you use to search your drive???

Winmysqladmin is actaully a tool that is designed to work with a standalone installation Windows installation of MySQL, so it may or may not work in all cases with a XAMPP installation. (as XAMPP is registry neutral) I suspect it will be OK, but that is no reall guarantee

Do you by any chance have TWO MySQL installations on the same machine??? :?:

Re: Acces violation at address 10002593 in module 'LIBMYSQL.

i am having a problem...If I try to use WinMySQLAdmin to change the ini file I get the messages again and can't perform the change, similar to Raggapants' problem. With a search I can't find anywhere a file called "my.ini" to update it.

keine Verbindung zu MySQL

Moin moin

#2054 - Connecting to 3.22, 3.23 & 4.0 servers is not supported

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql_connect]: Connecting to 3.22, 3.23 & 4.0 is not supported. Server is 3.23.52-nt in C:\xampp\htdocs\xampp\cds.php on line 64

mysql backup and restore problem

I have a serious problem.
I can see mysql data at web page, but not at sql.

My database is "utf8" and "utf8_genral_ci", but web program's charset is "euc-kr".
The problem is backup and restore.

The command "mysqldump -uroot -p --default-character-set=euc-kr mydb > /my-backup.sql" can produce backup sql, but I could not read and restoring does not works. Also " --default-character-set=utf8" shows same result.

Code: Select all
mysqldump -uroot -p --default-character-set=euc-kr my-db > my-backup.sql

mySQL running then stops

Hi, I am new to programming, but I have installed Xampp several times before. On a new machine (using Win XP) I cannot run MySQL, but Apache is. I have searched the forum and tried to follow steps as shown below the error message from the mysql.err.

1. At first, in the control panel of XAMPP I ticked the SVC for both Apache and MySQL.
2. Apache is running, MySQL says it is started, but the "green running" is not appearing.
3. No access to phpmyadmin, but http:/localhost/ displays "It works!".
4. I'm confused :)
5. I'm getting annoyed.
6. I tried the steps found in another thread shown below under heading #2.
7. By trying out step 6, the MySQL turned green "running", but disappeared again soon after about 4 seconds, and will not run.

#1. From mysql.err file:

#2. Find your startup folder and delete the shortcut for WinMySQLAdmin and don't ever click on the MySQL Admin... button or you will have more troubles.
xXDonXx wrote:
Mysql doesn`t work , what can i do to fix this?
Remove the tick in the Svc box then try and start Mysql.

If it won't start go to xampp\mysql\ folder and run the mysql_uninstallservice.bat file.

If it uninstalls the service go back and check in the XCP that the tick in the Svc box has gone.

If it has gone then try and Start MySQL.

Don't put a tick in the Svc box until your know that MySQL is Running.

See if that helps.

Hope to receive some help by anyone with knowledge! Thank you, very much appreciated!
