Re: Downloadgeschwindigkeit - Sperre?

Es geht um 3 Webserver mit jeweils XAMPP 1.7.4

###### ApacheFriends XAMPP (Basispaket) version 1.7.4 ######

+ Apache 2.2.17
+ MySQL 5.5.8 (Community Server)
+ PHP 5.3.5 (VC6 X86 32bit) + PEAR
+ XAMPP Control Version 2.5 from www.nat32.com
+ XAMPP Security
+ SQLite 2.8.15
+ OpenSSL 0.9.8o
+ phpMyAdmin 3.3.9
+ ADOdb 5.11
+ Mercury Mail Transport System v4.62
+ FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.37
+ Webalizer 2.01-10
+ Zend Optimizer 3.3.0
+ Perl 5.10.1
+ Mod_perl 2.0.4
+ Tomcat 7.0.3

# EnableMMAP and EnableSendfile: On systems that support it,
# memory-mapping or the sendfile syscall is used to deliver
# files. This usually improves server performance, but must
# be turned off when serving from networked-mounted
# filesystems or if support for these functions is otherwise
# broken on your system.
#
EnableMMAP off
EnableSendfile off

Ron

Apache Keeps Crashing

Ok. I am a bit of an novice but I think I have followed every forum without solution. My apache keeps crashing unexpectedly at random times. Some days it is a 15 min start crash cycle, some days it is every couple hours, some days not at all. I am at wits end. It started happening 4 months ago out of the blue. No updates or anything. Here is the xampp version.
+ Apache 2.2.11
+ MySQL 5.1.30 (Community Server)
+ PHP 5.2.8 + PEAR (Support for PHP 4 has been discontinued)
+ PHP-Switch win32 1.0 (use "php-switch.bat" in the xampp main directory)
+ XAMPP Control Version 2.5 from http://www.nat32.com
+ XAMPP Security 1.0
+ SQLite 2.8.15
+ OpenSSL 0.9.8i
+ phpMyAdmin 3.1.1
+ ADOdb 4.990
+ Mercury Mail Transport System v4.52
+ FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.29
+ Webalizer 2.01-10
+ Zend Optimizer 3.3.0
+ eAccelerator 0.9.5.3 für PHP 5.2.8 (but not activated in the php.ini)

Here is the apache log:

XAMPP stopped working properly

I've had XAMPP set up and working fine and using it with NetBeans for PHP development for ages but haven't needed it for a couple of months and on returning to it it seems to have stopped working properly. Attempting the access my projects at http://localhost/htdocs/index.php just gives a can't find the server or page not found message (depending on the browser).

I get the same problem with http://localhost/xampp ... not found

However http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ does work so it is serving something.

What could have changed to stop it working?

I'm using a pretty old version on Windows 7 64 bit - the readme gives the following version information.

###### ApacheFriends XAMPP (Basispaket) version 1.7.4 ######

+ Apache 2.2.17
+ MySQL 5.5.8 (Community Server)
+ PHP 5.3.5 (VC6 X86 32bit) + PEAR
+ XAMPP Control Version 2.5 from www.nat32.com
+ XAMPP Security
+ SQLite 2.8.15
+ OpenSSL 0.9.8o
+ phpMyAdmin 3.3.9
+ ADOdb 5.11
+ Mercury Mail Transport System v4.62
+ FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.37
+ Webalizer 2.01-10
+ Zend Optimizer 3.3.0
+ Perl 5.10.1
+ Mod_perl 2.0.4

Re: Zend Optimizer for current XAMPP?

Zend Guard is not able to get to work with current XAMPP versions because it only works with the non-thread-safe versions of PHP.

Re: about xampp and zend Optimizer

Zend Guard / Optimizer does not support the thread safe versions of the php binaries so no chance for XAMPP.

about xampp and zend Optimizer

I think that xamp integrated the zend Web encryption and decryption functions will be well.
Because some encrypted website system will be garbled.

MySQL returns error 2002 (10060) when connecting to remote

Hi folks,

I have XP SP3 with following "XAMPP Portable" setup:
Code: Select all
###### ApacheFriends XAMPP (Basispaket) version 1.7.4 ######
  + Apache 2.2.17
  + MySQL 5.5.8 (Community Server)
  + PHP 5.3.5 (VC6 X86 32bit) + PEAR
  + XAMPP Control Version 2.5 from www.nat32.com
  + XAMPP Security
  + SQLite 2.8.15
  + OpenSSL 0.9.8o
  + phpMyAdmin 3.3.9
  + ADOdb 5.11
+ Mercury Mail Transport System v4.62
  + FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.37
  + Webalizer 2.01-10
  + Zend Optimizer 3.3.0
  + Perl 5.10.1
  + Mod_perl 2.0.4
  + Tomcat 7.0.3

On same system, i have MySQL/ODBC connector, which works fine. Now, i've tried to connect from second computer with same settings, and MySQL refuses connection.
I've tried:
1. MySQL user's hostmask is "%"
2.a) uncomment lines in my.ini which block remote connections
2.b) Bound listening IP address to 0.0.0.0 ("all")
3. changed socket from "D:/Xampp/mysql/mysql.sock" to "TCP/IP" and also tried "D:/Xampp/mysql/TCP/IP.sock" (which sounds mega-wrong because of slash in "tcp/ip")
and none of this works.

Here's the screenshot:
Image

What am i doing that wrong?

PS. note that i've tried to use BBCode which puts a thumbnail of picture and links to bigger one, but forum blocked, therefore i've needed to put whole picture. Thank you!

Added python, works but seems to be caching 1st script run

TL;DR I think my python install in XAMPP is somehow caching stuff, I only see the same hello world message no matter what py script I run.

Setup details are below. I've used XAMPP plenty of times over the years on lots of local machines for testing and playing with scripting and OS software, but I'm new to all things python.

I installed python to play with some OS stuff in python, used this tutorial: http://blog.chomperstomp.com/installing-python-mod_python-on-xampp/

So it ran the test script fine and printed the wonderful "Hello World!" message we all love to see. The problem is that now, no matter what I do in a script or what else I try to run all that appears in the browser is "Hello World!". Even if I change the original script to print "Hello World!xyz" it does not change. I've restarted Apache, I've rebooted the computer. I added some stuff to http.conf to turn off any caching, all to no avail.

Code: Select all
<Directory "D:/xampp/htdocs">
        AddHandler mod_python .py
        PythonHandler mptest
   PythonPath "['D:/xampp/htdocs/test']+sys.path"
        PythonDebug On
   # set headers to prevent caching for anything in this directory
   Header set Pragma "no-cache"
   Header set Cache-Control "no-cache"
   Header set Expires "-1"
</Directory>

The setup:

###### ApacheFriends XAMPP (Basispaket) version 1.7.4 ######

+ Apache 2.2.17

Re: Help is not working XAMPP version 1.7.7

Paul -

A. Yes, the PHP version changes. (and other things as well)

We've released the new version of XAMPP 1.7.7, including:

Apache 2.2.21
MySQL 5.5.16
PHP 5.3.8
phpMyAdmin 3.4.5
FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.39
Tomcat 7.0.21 (with mod_proxy_ajp as connector)

1.7.4
+ Apache 2.2.17
+ MySQL 5.5.8 (Community Server)
+ PHP 5.3.5 (VC6 X86 32bit) + PEAR
+ XAMPP Control Version 2.5 from http://www.nat32.com
+ XAMPP Security
+ SQLite 2.8.15
+ OpenSSL 0.9.8o
+ phpMyAdmin 3.3.9
+ ADOdb 5.11
+ Mercury Mail Transport System v4.62
+ FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.37
+ Webalizer 2.01-10
+ Zend Optimizer 3.3.0
+ Perl 5.10.1
+ Mod_perl 2.0.4
+ Tomcat 7.0.3

Yes many differences.

B. We would need the detailed error messages for anyone to try to help you. Despite my avatar, I do not possess 'Remote Vulcan Mind Meld' to detemine what might be wrong with your scripts/programs.

C. I have to ask - why did you upgrade???

Good Luck

Re: XAMPP and Zend Loader

Hi ebs123,

ebs123 wrote:Does what you stated applicable to all versions of XAMPP?

Zend Guard is incompatible with all XAMPP versions which comes with PHP 5.3+ (XAMPP >= 1.7.2).

ebs123 wrote:I read somewhere about going back to XAMPP 1.7.1 would help, any details on that?

Yes. XAMPP 1.7.1 was the last XAMPP release with PHP 5.2 and comes already with Zend Optimizer 3.3.0. Give it a try

ebs123 wrote:What do others do? run Zend Server? It replaces the entire XAMPP stack is how I understand.

I use Zend Server (CE) for most of my production Servers and some of my development machines.
In my optinion it is more easy to use Zend Server of you want to use other Zend products too.
